My Darkness

My Darkness

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

I close my eyes and toss and turn
Praying for the sanity I so desperately yearn

My heart beats fast as my breathing stutters
I pull off the blankets and quietly mutter

I rub my face then run a hand through my hair
The stress weighs heavy and into the dark I stare

A million thoughts run through my head
And behind me there's a shuffle in bed

Her arms wrap around me her chest to my back
She quickly kisses my check in a surprise attack

The touch of her hand lightens my soul
As she grips it and pulls it through the black hole.

My mind is clear, my heart healed from the nothingness
She is my everything, the cure for my darkness.
