The Boy

The Boy

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

The door slammed open, the lights flashed on,
the covers flew off. Something is wrong.

It gripped the boys arm and yanked him around.
Screaming and cussing It threw him to the ground.

The boy cried out and balled up on the floor.
It growled and stumbled out the door.

The next day at school the kids all asked,
but the boy just smiled behind his mask.

The teachers ignore the multiplying bruises,
believing in the boys constant excuses.

The sun set quicker the boy swear in his head.
He turns off the tv and hurries to bed.

This night It chooses to leave him alone,
but tomorrow the boy knows It will surly atone.

The loud banging echoes most of the night
only to stop at the suns first light.

The boy held out, but only this long
for It was entirely way too strong.

A pile of soil with a flower on top,
nobody gathers for the boy the world forgot.

Like this writing, I used to spend my summers as a kid in your area or the world (Bend OR) that is what made me stop in but I am staying for the good writing. I host a poetry open mic via internet www.worldpoetryopenmic.net and I would love for you to join us as well
