Almost Memories

Almost Memories

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

Dispersing so thin,
the pieces of us never to be seen again.

With a trace of guilt, falling into the past
never once thought our love wasn’t built to last.

But as time moved on it became a hopeless
ray of light fading ever so slowly ‘til there
was nothing left in sight.

I’ll remember the sweet scent
of your presence how you emitted a
perfect bright shining essence.

I’ll never regret the memories we shared
how nothing was out of reach as long as we dared.

I never meant to hurt you
that was the last thing I ever wanted to do.

We promised forever even as we floated above
and I swear I didn’t mean to fall out of love.

I hope you live each day with glee
and remember the joy if you ever think of me.
