Wildfire

Wildfire

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

You found me in my lonesome meadow
Your light so blazing; it kidnaped shadows

We talked and laughed 'til almost dawn
One hour with you and I was gone

It wasn't long 'til I knew
The type of disaster I was falling into

For I saw the flame that encircled your soul
Even before my heart you had stole.

You're a wildfire, baby, there's chaos in your bones
You're just a walking sin refusing to atone

You brought light to my meadow, but then you burned it down.
Saw the destruction that you make and ran yourself out of town.

You're a wildfire, baby, crazy and out of control.
You're just an empty vessel, how ironic that you made me whole.

I've tried to smother it, but it just burned hotter
It's too big to extinguish with a bucket of water.

You're a wildfire, baby, a dangerous force of nature.
How I miss the days when you were just a stranger.

Knowing almost instantly, that where you are treading is dangerous ground, but temptation being too strong to stop you. Beautifully penned. Thank you for sharing.
