Lies

Lies

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

There's no such thing as magic and nothing in this world is ever tragic.

People don't lose their way, the sun doesn't rise every day.

I haven't thought about you for quite some time, I can hardly recall when I called you mine.

I don't pray to hear your voice on the other side of the phone, I can sit in a crowded room and never feel alone.

I don't shed a single tear when I hear your name. I can got out with new guys now and not feel any shame.

I never see you in my dreams and the silence doesn't make me want to scream.

I don't wish for you to burst through my door, I don't love you anymore.

3 months have past and I'm doing fine and everyday I repeat these lines.

I tell myself I'm not numb and in pain.
It's the only way I stay sane.
