Just a Dream

Just a Dream

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

I saw you today in my dream
you were pretty far away, so your name I screamed.

You turned around and our eyes they met
and you smiled that smile the one I can't seem to forget.

We walked towards each other and our arms embraced
and against your shoulder I rested my face.

I pulled you in tight refusing to let go.
Our hearts beat together and once again I saw your glow.

But everything faded as I awoke
and once again my happiness was revoked.

I sat up in bed as the tears fell from my eyes.
Why do I still love you even after all of your lies?

I missed you today just like every day before
and each night I pray you'll reopen our door.

You weren't just my love you were my best friend
and even though we're over my heart won't comprehend.

I saw you today in my dream
it's the only way I can see you now, so it seems.
