Whole

Whole

A Poem by Catti*Bre
"

just some things in my heart

"
Its a river running deep,
this sorrow inside,
its waters thick and black
mirroring the ghost in her eyes.

she fell apart,
into pieces; fragile and frail.
she clings to the one hope she has left
but knows nothing will prevail.

the glass cuts deep
leaving tiny little trails
red rivers running down her arm
crimson staining her porcelain skin

she fell away from it all,
down down like a never ending spiral
one after another
like waves crashing tidal.

her confidence faded,
the love torn and jaded
her heart shatters a bit more with each heart beat
she cries in her fear
she cant see through the tears
but she's crawling to find a way out.

the cold blade of a knife
she feels with her fingers
grasps tightly the handle
pressing deep into her skin.
the red river runs quickly now
her breath shortens to gasps

she fell to the ground
her life splayed broken in the dust
with one last breath she gives it all to the earth

she is whole
