Turmoil

Turmoil

A Poem by Catrice

A difficult decision,

at first nagging,

slowly aggitating

till you become uneasy

and annoyed.

As voices in your head cause an uproar

a disturbance in your thoughts, in your mind

causing a commotion that tears,

ripping into your heart and soul

Thoughts turn from whispers ot screams

as you toss and turn in your restless mind

tearing and ripping, falling to pieces

in hopless despair

The voices keep shouting and you keep tearing yourself

ripping at the broken piesces

till there's nothing left but a beast of confusion

looking for an answer

to an unsolveable riddle.

This is so very interesting and powerful. Almost like a definition of Turmoil yet so much more than that. What I truly love about this piece is that it could be taken in so many ways. Allowing the reader to feel the agitation and annoyance, however leaving us to simply fill in the blanks, recalling the times we have felt this way in our own lives, whenever we have faced a difficult question. I love the internal battle because to me that is what turmoil is, a huge fight to the death with yourself. Great piece, Catrice!

We all have our battles. This has a very powerful imagery for me. I like it.
