Ships in the night

Ships in the night

A Poem by Catlen

Your heart in shadows

my place of hide

Your nightmares are windows

Your blood's a tide

Your silence echoes

I have no escape.

Your walls surround me,

cover me in darkness

A dawn I'll never see

Eternal sleep falls upon me

A dream not survived in light.

A kiss of breath will awake me

Your mind's corners I'll roam

Your thoughts to unveil

A beacon of light I'll shed

Your journey to start.

Like ships that pass in the night

Never to meet again

Only a flicker of hope

will remain on our path.

Beautiful imagery!

I like the flicker of hope after the passage on the beacon of light i get the sense of a fading light as the ships continue on in the darkness...
