Today I Travelled

Today I Travelled

A Poem by Cassie Black
"

Just a poem describing the scenes I saw today

"
Today I travelled
Where I had not been before
As I winded down the roads
Peace I never felt more

I caught a sight
Of a body of water
So beautiful and crystalline
The Lee's own daughter

Simple and free flowing
Full of hope, dreams and wonder
With the urge to get out
And dive down under

As I returned
Later that same day
I watched out for my sister
Water full of serenity

But it had changed
With the tide now so low
It looked now barren
Less friend, more foe

Branches stuck up
And the mud looked deep
I didn't feel like drowning
I just felt bleak
