The LessonA Poem by HumanNaturePoet“…find in the natural world superb metaphors for human life.” Luci ShawCreature, as much created as the rest, conscientious yes, thus most indebted
for the Earth: spacious, environ-varied, all-providing. But you have grown pretentious
strayed far from my guiding into an artificial life of stress and ills. You spend your time dividing
your self at the feet of progress, divorced from authenticity, living dull and sullen days with less
and less gratifying harmony. Seek again your Sister’s counsel and I’ll cure your deficiency
with wildness connections that fulfill. Recall first flesh? Fashioned then from dust you now tread? Gather, spill
it from your palms"again, hold it, etch your prints back where they find their origin.
Go beyond the data, the black and white: listen, watch, find the intimacy, don’t just react.
I teach those who mind. Consume what you observe; see how analogies I offer are aligned
with your life, that all moves in unity, that if you would know yourself, know me. © 2022 HumanNaturePoetAuthor's Note
