Dangling from the edge

Dangling from the edge

A Story by Cath

Bunny's love carrots . Dolphins love the ocean.I love you. I walk over to the edge of the cliff- looking out at the deep blue sea , with the waves breaking on the shore - I sit down and dangle my legs over the ledge and place the picnic basket next to me . There was a smell of salt In the air, the grass was plush under me . This was the spot where we first met , I was sitting in the same spot that I am now . He had sat next to me making some joke on my pajamas ( it was 3 in the morning and I couldn't sleep so I'd went for a walk ) we had sat there till six o'clock in the morning and when I got up to leave , I had a big wet stain from the damp grass - he gave me his jacket to rap around my waist and said he would meet me at the same spot , only at 8 o'clock this time. So here I am am 3 weeks later -after about 10 meetings in this spot- waiting for him , for our special picnic.he walked over to me , sat down on the other side of the picnic basket and kissed me on the forehead . I handed him his normal jam sandwich and I took a apple. We talked for ages, about his new puppy back home , my lame tutor for Math and so on. We stood up later , on the edge of the cliff and he cupped the back of my head with his soft hand leaned it to me and whispered three words , eight letters .I love you. I kiss him on the nose cheek then mouth . It was beautiful , amazing. I was so caught up in it that when I took a step back, I slipped on a lose rock . Suddenly I was falling. Falling , my back to the ground, looking up at his distort face . Funny , I could smell the salt in the air and the breeze on my cheek , but I wasn't scared. I would die happy.my body hit the sand that wasn't soft at all, all the air left my lungs. Pain gripped me and blood flowed from my nose, but the pain was fading - white light was at the edge of my vision , but I still saw him . Climbing down the cliff , running to me with tears flowing for his eyes. He knelt beside me and place my head on his lap, stroking my hair . I was happy in his arms - that seemed like the perfect way to go.
" I love you too " I said happily , then the light went off and he kissed me good night .
