Trepidation

Trepidation

A Poem by Austin Cates

Burn my lips with the passion of your kiss and watch as my flesh sizzles away on the wind of your breath.

Beat me bloody with the battered knuckles of regret and feel the life drift from my broken body.

Drown me in the lake of your sorrow and count the fading bubbles as they rise to the surface.

Bury me in the hole of your heart and roar so loud that my own screams are but rumblings beneath the dirt.

Do what you will to me, my dear, but know that with every sunrise and sunset my love for you shall never diminish.
