Summer Sweet and Desert Delights

Summer is about eating light and right. With the mercury rising daily, there is no other delicious way to keep you cool other than some chilled sweet deserts. Be it the wobbly flavored ice popsicles, or ice cream delights, we all irrespective of age, deserve a break and some happiness too.

Gone are the days, when one used to get these summer delight in fruits and nuts flavors. Come to Bengaluru, you will get boozy popsicles and liquor infused ice-cream. Though these menus are for adult consumption, younger one too has delights reserved for them. From creamy kulfis and ice creams to popsicles and jellos, there are unlimited ways to satisfy that sweet tooth.

     1.    Aam Shrikhandd or Amrakhand

A Gujarati favorite made with hung curd. Few ingredients, great flavors! In this recipe mildly sweetened yogurt is studded with mango pieces and served with a zesty mango salad.

       2.    Kulfi

A popular frozen creamy dessert that is sinfully rich and delightful. The milk is reduced with saffron, cardamom, pistachio and almonds, served chilled.

3.      Kheer

Traditional cardamom-scented Indian rice pudding owes its particular richness to the inclusion of whole milk, which has been reduced by half during the cooking process to produce a thick, creamy base

     4.      Thandai Rasmalai

Rasmalai is a delectable Bengali dessert, freshly made with chenna balls soaked in malai. An Indian dessert that you just can't resist!

     5.      Rabri

Rich, sweet, creamy and nutty!  Rabdi is a milk based dessert made to celebrate any memorable occasions. You can serve it chilled as summer delight.

     6.      Aam raas

Nothing but flavored mango pulp! Basically aamras is the mango pulp or puree which is flavored with cardamom or saffron. It is served with puffed puris, hence the dish gains its name as- aamras puri.
