The memoirs of a mad man

The memoirs of a mad man

A Poem by Cat Lively

When my time comes to pass
and I fail my health
they will bury my pain
in a pit with stealth

they will burn my passion
for a fire of wealth
they will break my possessions
they will fix themselves

They will take my bad, my goods, my all
and give me a place to rest, to fall.

that said and done
the man is more,
who goes as one
they still adore.

Beautifully haunting and the flow is incredible. It appears you just posted this today, yet I can't see how this site has gone so long without it. Its great, and will go in my favs for sure. The title really hooks you in, and after that you read an incredible poem, that stays with you long after you read it. Great job.
