What A Grin

What A Grin

A Poem by Caitlin Rhea

Red of a rose petal,
Thorns sticking to your words.
Say,can you stop yourself,
From spitting such venom.

A mess so nasty,
Lips sealed from spilling.
Hushed tones,
Words slurred to no understandings.

Body bruised, black and blue,
Pleasure from the pain.
Tied down to this bed,
Unforgiving words.

What happened to forever,
It died that night.
A trust so fragile,
The stars could not compare.

Closed and antisocial,
Let me see your face.
Is it ugly from the lies,
You brought me down with.

The devil is you,
Staring in broken mirrors.
Once my favorite angle,
Don't come crawling back to me.

Empty bottles scattered,
What a mess.
Ha. How does it feel,
To be broken and hopeless?

I didn't recognize,
a joke standing right in front of me.
Joker, Joker,
Cut from ear to ear.

That's the only grin,
You'll ever have.
After I'm done with you,
No feeling except brokenness will be left.
