Captain! Oh, Captain!

Captain! Oh, Captain!

A Poem by Caitlin Rhea

I hear the words come from your mouth,
They mean nothing though.
Medically helpless,
Minds clogged from the lies.

Intelligence down the drain,
Don't tell me I don't understand.
Outcast and outdated,
Painted black to match the walls.

Accents and slang,
Country made out of money.
Lay down and take it,
Scares from the underground.

Try to explain it to your kids,
How their parents ruined their future.
Hell starts to rise,
Waters dying down.

This place is sinking down,
"Captain! Captain! Our ship is sinking! "
Your leader is gone,
The sharks have taken him.

You can't have someone save you,
Man up and save yourself.
This world is a man eat man,
One for one.

"Ahoy! Welcome!
It's a journey to the end.
We're driving hell all the way there,
Captain, your ship is sinking"
