Falling

Falling

A Poem by Caitlin Rhea

The beauty of our conversations,
I don't even know you.
The way you made me smile,
Not even a minute after we talked.

It's such a shame,
I hide behind these walls.
The walls I'm afraid to let down,
They've been here for so long.

I'll laugh, call you my bestfriend,
What if I want so much more?
I want to see your smile,
It's probably breathtaking.

The feeling of your fingers in my hair,
You're my reason for living.
Tell me I'm too beautiful,
To be so sad.

How can you possibly know this,
When I'm surrounded by these demons.
Tell me,
Do you get nervous when you talk to me?

Is it just a silly little crush,
Maybe in the end, I'll let you in.
But for now,
I'll hide in my safe room.

A way to express no feeling,
When we talk, I let it go.
This is not what I was expecting,
To fall for someone I don't even know.
