The madness train

The madness train

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Time to know what real pleasure is. Before it is too late.

"
    The  Madness train

            I'm twisted up.
            Hogties to bullshit.

            I'm strangled with useless things.
I can't recognize my face in the mirror.

            Life based on my salary.
            Paying bills.
            Buying more useless things.

            New generation of children.
            Always wanting more.

How many toys do you need?

Today I will go to the River.
Sit and try to find my mind again.

Take my child to the park.
            Toss a baseball.
            Shoot a few baskets.

            Must stop this madness.
            Put away the video games.
            Turn off the televisions.

            Go outside.

Feel the sun on my face.

            Get un-twisted.
            Get un-hogties to the B.S.

            Get off the madness train.

Live life for the real pleasures.

             Friends and family.

A reminder, and I cannot deny it's necessity, for this society and for me. This takes me by the shoulders and shakes me. So thank you for bringing notice to our own complacency. Something must be done. I think I should take some time to rediscover my own mind as well.

i liked this poem! I totally agree with your train of thought. Kids this generation are greedy and often not giving a glance to what really matters in this world. Nature isn't something you take for granted. Thank you for the great write! I really enjoyed it!

This is great! Something a lot of people need to read. We have become so materialistic! Please read my poem "Brothers and Sisters", it is written on the same subject. Family and Friends will not always be here but for many, they won't realize their mistake until it is too late.

One of the iges questions being asked of western children today, you've done well to highlight it in odd fashion

This is so true..for so many. We get all into our electronic worlds and miss out on so much.. then life piles up on top of it all and we forget to put our barefeet into the grass or dirt and breathe.. That's real life..that's real pleasure.. Thank you for sharing..xo

it is very realistic and expressing every parent's responsibility. the more we grow the more our responsibilities become more and more until we feel heavy loaded with them. the clever one is the person who can make balance between responsibilities and rights, but it is really vry hard. i really admire all your poems. they are really great. simply because they are real reflection of your real life. thank you for all your reviews to me and thank you more for every read request you send to me

Back to the basics... that is what we need to do to realize what is important. I love the message 100 percent.

i'm not a parent but i can imagine with the rate of today's technology that children do want more. it's like you have to work so your kids can keep up with technology. it's good to take a breather from all the madness once in a while. great poem.

It was kinda interesting how you use the emotion in your poetry, but I still like it though ^^
