A wild bird

A wild bird

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Some people need freedom. To lock them up. They will fade away and die.

"

                              A wild bird.

I saw the fear in her eyes.
She told me that "I love you.
I need you."

But I'm afraid.
Afraid of losing myself in a emotion
where I won't be able to escape.

A wild bird can't be captured.
A wild bird may forget the freedom it once had.
But in dreams will fly free and have no walls to lock them in.

I heard her crying at night.
She was swimming in a sweet love
and dreaming of flying away.
Twisting up her dreams and heart.

A wild bird will slowly die.
One day.
The wildness in the eyes of the wild bird will be gone.

She  quit talking of life and great dreams.
Her laughter  faded away.
Her spirit of life was lost in the gentle breezes.

I try to motivate my love.
I took her to the sea, the mountains and
we took long road trips.

I saw her blue eyes become sadder.
I used to see the blue sky in her eyes.
Now I saw sadness and tears.

I will set my wild bird free.
I will tell her to fly away to her hope and dreams.
I will tell her.
I will wait for you.

Somethings can't be held down.
Some dreams are so powerful.
They can kill your energy and joy of life.

I couldn't kill my beautiful lady.
I could not cage her in a love with walls and barriers.

I released her on a sunny day.
I took her to the airport.
I broke my heart.

I found a sort of peace for setting a spirit free to
wander the great world.

I knew when you set a wild bird free.
They would not  return.

Coyote Poetry
A old poem. Youth is the greatest wine. Dance, sing and travel. Life is too short to work then died. Test the boundaries and live each day like it is your last.

Outstanding poetry. A brilliant potrayal of a wild and adventrous soul. We see her through your eyes and her image couldn not be more perfect. It ends on a tragic note and I have started to feel that sorrow and lonliness is as much a part of love as happiness.
A wonderful poem. Great job! :D

Extrodinary piece with soulful insight; the sentiment so true, and your choice to free the bird, so moving. Delightful blending of words from the hear I especially enjoyed the line, "I found a sort of peace for setting a spirit free to
wander the great world." I find a piece of myself in this piece.

Again, as always, it's so refreshing reading your outstanding works of art. The greatest act of love is to set free the one you love so dearly... No matter how it pains you. It's better to have had and experienced true love, than to never have known love at all...

I agree 100% with your comment concerning youth and life.

This is a tragic love story. So many would not have been able to let the wild bird go. Very sad story but told in a way that touches the reader. I think there might be truth to the saying: Love hurts.

A very sad story but a story of true love. Love isn't always the answer. I think you did a wonderful job on this.

Beautifully tragic. Love can be just as suffocating as it can be eloquent. True love would never selfishly entrap the apple of its eye on purpose, therefore release would be the greatest act of compassion. Outstanding write, you!

The tragedy of attraction, we always seek what we cannot keep. Do we remain hunters, killing our prey or do we nurture for a while before releasing them back into the wilds.

A very good write about the inner struggle between selfish want and doing what is right.
