A wild bird

A wild bird

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Some people need freedom. To lock them up. They will fade away and die.

"

                              A wild bird.

I saw the fear in her eyes.
She told me that "I love you.
I need you."

But I'm afraid.
Afraid of losing myself in a emotion
where I won't be able to escape.

A wild bird can't be captured.
A wild bird may forget the freedom it once had.
But in dreams will fly free and have no walls to lock them in.

I heard her crying at night.
She was swimming in a sweet love
and dreaming of flying away.
Twisting up her dreams and heart.

A wild bird will slowly die.
One day.
The wildness in the eyes of the wild bird will be gone.

She  quit talking of life and great dreams.
Her laughter  faded away.
Her spirit of life was lost in the gentle breezes.

I try to motivate my love.
I took her to the sea, the mountains and
we took long road trips.

I saw her blue eyes become sadder.
I used to see the blue sky in her eyes.
Now I saw sadness and tears.

I will set my wild bird free.
I will tell her to fly away to her hope and dreams.
I will tell her.
I will wait for you.

Somethings can't be held down.
Some dreams are so powerful.
They can kill your energy and joy of life.

I couldn't kill my beautiful lady.
I could not cage her in a love with walls and barriers.

I released her on a sunny day.
I took her to the airport.
I broke my heart.

I found a sort of peace for setting a spirit free to
wander the great world.

I knew when you set a wild bird free.
They would not  return.

Coyote Poetry
A old poem. Youth is the greatest wine. Dance, sing and travel. Life is too short to work then died. Test the boundaries and live each day like it is your last.

Outstanding poetry. A brilliant potrayal of a wild and adventrous soul. We see her through your eyes and her image couldn not be more perfect. It ends on a tragic note and I have started to feel that sorrow and lonliness is as much a part of love as happiness.
A wonderful poem. Great job! :D

I was overwhelmed while reading this. That's the power of love. When you love someone, you can do anything for him/her, even if it includes not being able to be with him/her again!

"I heard her crying at night.
She was swimming in a sweet love
and dreaming of flying away.
Twisting up her dreams and heart."

I am in love with these lines.

And the ending note to the poem was just superb."I knew when you set a wild bird free.
They would not return."

No need to say I loved it (you must already know from my review!).

It is one of your most beautiful poems.

What refreshing air your breathe in this piece...a message as liberating as the piece itself:)

I like this:
"Somethings can't be held down.
Some dreams are so powerful.
They can kill your energy and joy of life."

The finality at the end of the piece...aweing!
You speak the truth my friend...well told...

This is pretty good work. It's very great to use the imagery about a wild bird. Such heart touching piece, in my view. :)

This was beautiful. It reminded me of a couple Jon Foreman songs. If you would like, I can link them to you. Anyway, this was real poetry, and I loved it. Thank you for sharing.

We all have to learn that we can't let anything hold us back, even our own fears. I learned it quite recently so I can definetly relate to this. Thank you for a beautiful poem. :)

Brilliant write hun, I am slowly sifting my way through the 400 odd read requests that my absence left me with so doubtless I'll be back to you again later x

This is such a good poem! It enlightens people and has an emotional vibe to it...
"I used to see the blue sky in her eyes" That is my favorite part. Youth (children) makes everybody smile and you achieved it by putting it in words!! Good Job!!

I love the end...absolutely. Wild birds if set free will not come back. This is fantastic. I like the simple format but the emotion in this piece is very strong. Wonderful. I am so happy to have read this.
