Sweet red wine

Sweet red wine

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Youth is the best days in a life. Days are long. Love is possible.

"
                                   Sweet red wine

It was early fall. The sweet new wines of Germany came out.
They are cheap and tasty.
It was a beautiful late summer day.
The youth of  the city of Boeblingen surrounded the lake drinking the wine and listening to music.

I was  with my Scottish beauty.
She was so beautiful.
She held me so tightly.
We found a peace in a sweet love only
two innocent in heart can understand.

We drank the sweet red wine.
I asked her to marry me.
We sealed our two lives together,
with sweet and tender kisses.
Her sweet lips tasted of sweet red wine.

We traveled to Scotland together.
Made promises of forever to the Ivory Cliffs of Dover.
I could kiss and love my lady till we fell together in a happiness no-one
could separate.
She promised to love me forever and a day.
I told her. She would be my only sweet dream I can hold on to.

Somehow foolishness and bad timing allow us to separate.
I did not forget my promise.
Her kind memory is tattoos on my heart.
For after we separated.
I could not love anyone else.

I wished everyday to return to lake.
Drink sweet red wine.
Wrap my arms around her.
Kiss her sweet lips.
Have her warm body near.
For I cannot forget her beautiful face.

For her.
I have written a thousand words of love.
Never gave any woman what we shared and understood.

I whisper to the wind.
I pray to  the moon and the stars.
My yearning to taste sweet red wine.
Dance by the Boeblingen lake with my love.
Kiss and hold her near.
Whisper thank you  for her kindness and love for a foolish man.

This time.
I would not release her from my life.

I like the meaning of the sweet red mine.
You created an amazing scene with the pictures and your words gave it life.
The flow of your writing is brilliant, even though it was written in 1981.
Interesting idea, you mentioned the taste of the sweet red wine when you kissed her lips, rather then when you actually drank. I like the idea, it gives it more ..uhm *think of an adjective... power? It's struck me :) Excellent write :)

A sweet sad story of love gone wrong. It's always later that we realize what we let get away from us, the love of our lives.

I have to say, I really enjoy your writing. There's so much heart in every word. You can definitely feel the emotion. You portray the work of a true writer, in the sense that your readers can feel you emotion so easily.
Thank You :)

When due to any reasons, things don't remain same with the person whom you love dearly, life becomes sort of muddled. You cant turn back, neither moving on helps much in forgetting the past. You have depicted the entire emotions clearly in the poem.

The title is just perfect. I was not even born when you wrote the poem. But your style well suits with current times... Loved it

Very beautifully described this was. The sweet tenderness in your voice is very subtle and not too overpowering like most pieces about finding and Losing love on this site.

You have a very vivid explanation. Divine tales live through time. This one has persevered since 1981 so Kudos my friend!

Very magnetically written!

It holds a very solid message. But as a poem it seems a bit shaky. Could be more of a short memoir of past events for how it is written.

Your words express your burning love for her return.

This is nice..It was as if I am looking into a very personal time of your life...So romantic, and yes sad....losing love and the heartbreak can be expressed so well in poetry and you just took that to another level...touched my heart.

A tear came to my eye, the photos especially helped on this one my dear. I can not take my sadness for what is occurring within my life out on anyone or anything except my writing, but reading such beauty and seeing the photos of such older days.......THANK YOU.
