A good day to be alive my friend.

A good day to be alive my friend.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Each day is a opportunity to do something good.

"
A good day to be alive my friend

(Can you Move? Can you Think? Do you have
the ability to do more? Life pleasures can't
be reached locks up in sad and disappointing
lives. Get up. Reach out. No pity for those
                            swimming in self-pity.
Too many years in the Army.
       Coyote)

Cornerstone of a good life are the kindness and love given and received.

Kind ancestors left us with gifts of love.
Needed to be passed on to our children.

Disappointment can barricade our mind and hearts.
We must breach the walls of disappointment.
Learn to celebrate being alive.

Correspond with your friends and family.
Tell them you miss and love them.

Remember lost friends.
Raised yourself up and fight the good fight.
Can't swim in self-pity.

Don't forfeit your dreams for someone else.

There are consequences for every action good or bad.

Aspire to touch the stars.
To dance on a lonely beach with a lover.
Sit at a park and watch your children play.

Thank the Spirit of life and death for one more day to be alive.

A prayer for the Water, Sky and the green Earth.

Thank you Spirit of life and death for this beautiful day.

Thank you for the Water, Sky and the Green Earth.

Teach me wisdom.
Kindness.
How to be humble.

Allow me to walk with my Brothers and Sisters in peace.

Allow us  to see a man or woman by the his deeds not the color of their skin.
Allow religion to be their personal choice.

Life is a road of a thousand decisions and journeys.
Please protect me on the road of life.

I pray the Spirit of life and death to forgive me for foolish
words said and deeds done.

Please give me strength and wisdom to do the right things.

Thank you for the sweet water that flow through my body and
keep my body and spirit clean.

Thank you for the blue sky and air that allowed me to walk
upon the Earth.

Thank you Green Earth.
Gifts of food to give me strength.

Thank you Spirit of Life and Death for one more day to be
with my family and friends.

Hm, I guess it is! I wasn't even born when this was written :D haha! I like it though. I think it's amazing how you still have something from those years. All I have is a blanky my mom's best friend made for me! This poem is amazing, and as always your able to express it in such manners I don't think I ever could. Nice job!

Every line stands out here as a masterpiece, a moral, an acknowledgment. I admire your humility and your compassion which pours out in each of the lines..This is something which we should all be taught or at least made to realize. To be grateful for the rich bounties we have, to be happy and be contended. To live in peace and harmony, to stop those monstrous fights..A brilliant poem, Coyote or rather two brilliant poems. I am amazed that this was written so long ago, 20 years and it still makes so much sense...

I once heard someone say "anyday above ground is a good day."

Remember lost friends.
Raised yourself up and fight the good fight.
Can't swim in self-pity.

It's one thing to know you're square with God for something you felt you've done or caused. It's something completely seperate to get right with yourself for it. Thanks Coyote
