I feel we must change directions. I asks my leaders why are we in the Middle East? They have no answers. Terrorist have been around for 3000 years at least. Better to have strong borders protection and proper security. There is no defense for crazed men who will died for a religion. We must protect the borders and allow the Middle East figure out what they want.

War is a very sensitive topic,
more sensitive when it comes to religious war.
I fail to understand why people would want to die for a religion.
when all religions say god is one, but with many names
Terrorists are around for 3000 years
but killers are around for much longer than that and its a basic instinct in every human
The more you desire for something, the more you want it
the more you want it, the more you will go behind it
and when this gives a clash, the person becomes defiant
defiancy leads to deadly desire, and nothing can stop that man from achieving what he wants.
Desire is the root cause of all evil
Everybody is rich in this world (rhetorical, read in religious sense)
But the way you spend things will make others seem more richer
Evrybody is poor in this world(rhetorical, read in religious sense)
but the way you understand things makes others seem poorer.
Border protection is important ,but no system is 100% secure.
People need not change the way they think
People need to change the way they understand others
Every War has a beautiful reason to start and a terrible reason to end.And if the End justifies the means ,as the saying goes I should accept with your point ,and every war is a failure
There is a saying in Telugu and it roughly translates as this :
The people who say that killing others is the only way to live
and to live, you have to kill
will they ever realise that they are their own enemies?
A wonderful piece of poetry , you have written down. However ,I should say , It falls flat when compared to the Killer on the Road.Rating : 100/100
so disturbing - our world is contaminated with superficial caring. There are signs everywhere that our earth is dying. There are few people who are aware of this painful neglect that is causing this tragic reality. My daughter and I volunteer at a an animal rescue agency and just this morning I was thinking of where I would like to volunteer to assist people. I am looking into agencies that need volunteers to work with the homeless and substance abusers. I am going to going to make time. I love the statement of 'If you're not part of the solution than you're part of the problem' - your poem is touching and sadly true. Our world needs help or it is going to disintegrate.
I am a pro war person and always will be. In my opinion war is necessary. Becuase of human nature we must have wars. We kill to protect and we kill for basically anything. This is a very insightful and powerful piece.
I dont agree with why we are over there. We have enough of our own problems why are we trying to solve others. If we paid more attention to our own regulations and borders then we wouldnt have the problems we do and we wouldnt have to make the excuse to go invade someone elses country.
I am gonna say what Scorpions said (I know I am old fashioned, and i like scorpions more that some modern kid)
Can anyone tell me why (refrain: can anyone tell me why)
The children of the world (refrain; the children of the world)
have to pay the price (refrain: pay another price)
and now you are telling me
you've seen it all before
I know it's right
but it still
breaks my heart
You know what? I totally agree. Just for economic and political reasons the troops are stationed in Afghanistan. They don't need to be there. They need to be with their families. I believe that peace can never completely prevail in a society but every person should have peace of mind atleast. A situation in which people don't have to fear for the lives of their loved ones.
Really nice write with incredible imagery.
Again, another good write. Your anger at selfishness and warfare, ending with a pleading note, makes for good proof to show how the pen is definitely mightier than the sword. You should put these poems of yours into a protest anthology.
I've lived in a war for 3 years from 10-13. I did not live through many horrors (survived a few bombings, lack of food and a hepatitis epidemic as a result of poor hygiene due to war) and have lost a couple members of my immediate family.
War is a horrible thing to those of you who never lived through it (and I hope you never do). You're only privy to the information and pictures you see in the media, but that's only half the story. If you think that is bad, then multiply it by at least 2 for the stuff that goes on but you don't get to see.
Why do we fight wars? Two things come to mind; "Greed" and "Religion". I was in a religious war and America is fighting one in Iraq because of greed. This BS of, "We go to war to free people and spread democracy". Hmm...I say take that and shove it where sun don't shine. You gain nothing by masking your motifs. The intelligent people will see right through you while the weak ones succumb to your propaganda.
In any case, I'll stop my rant here and conclude with saying a wonderful job. Really well written poem and true to the subject at hand :)
btw..."The horrendous cost of war could feed and give a place
to live to every human being in this world." - While true, individual people and nations profit enough from wars to offset the cost and there's always the poor old taxpayer; he's sure to pick up the tab.
