What will be left?

What will be left?

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

We need to show concern for Nature. Before she disappears.

"
  What will be left?

I took my children to the lake.
Signs are posted.
 Do not swim.

I will buy a K-mart pool and put in the backyard.

Damn we killed off the Great Lakes.

Cancer is running uncontrollable..

The slow death by pollution and greedy men.
Destroying our forest and woodlands.

Will  my children be able to play outside?
Or will pollution eat away at their dreams.

We tell our children to be kind.
Skin color doesn't matter.
 You can do anything.

We tell them to be fair and not fight.
Fighting will not solve problems.

Yes, the children see our morals.
They see the hate and disappointment.

Their eyes see the thousands who are homeless and poor.

Our leaders  sending soldiers to kill.
Not trying to have  peace talks and solve problems.

We wonder why our children don't want our leftovers.

We must stop the hate.
And the violence and the useless killing.

Keep the family together.

The healing must begin.
Or the eyes and mind of our children will turn against us.

For leaving nothing.

Author's Note

Coyote Poetry
I worry for this world. When I was young. I was going to do great things. Now I see we added to the waste and abuse of this planet. For the sake of the children. We must find sanity and try to save the planet before the road to hell can't be fixed.

A very poignant write my friend. (We must stop the hate. And the violence and the useless killing. Keep the family together. The healing must begin. Or the eyes and mind of our children will turn against us. For leaving nothing.) That last line says it all. ~Sharon

Ah, Coyote, such a good and meaningful write. ---But the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and mankind has been intending to be good from the start. But we just don't know how, or worse, who to follow. --- The worst-case scenario, we blast ourselves to neverland and then the 1-tenth of one percent that is left becomes the next Noah's Family. Maybe there were families before Noah(?). Who knows how many times we've done this? --- But I do agree, we need to get a grip. NOW

I agree my friend. We are dancing on a dangerous edge today. Thank you for reading and the comment.
Perhaps it is already too late... 😢
My mother believes so. She's always been a fighter. And she taught me the same. I once believed the world could be changed. And I stood with others who believed the same. Now, one voice sings alone.
My generation sold out. Money, power, apathy... The voices are silent. The music has died. The passion is cold. Well did the elders name is the me generation.
Through my verse I have tried to rekindle the torch. But who will carry it when I am gone? Wise words. Sad words. True words. If only the the world had more poetic coyotes.

Sadly our planet is suffering due to abuse by our thoughtless species. I worry too about the pollution and what will be left for future generations. I worry about the hate and violence
and curse politicians who seem to make matters more confrontational. I hope my grandchildren will remember the small things I have done in my own way to try and make things better. We all need to do far more. Thank you for your words of wisdom and concern dear Coyote. We all need to be more caring and much kinder.

I do believe in the old wise saying. Don't mess with Mother Nature. She will win.
I completely agree with what your are saying. That is why i am trying to help out the people who are victims of hurricane mathew. I have been trying all day. I believe helping one person will lead to me helping the world to fix this problem of rud ungratefulness.

I agree and the gift of kindness can expand. Time to lead with kindness, concern and love.
I to wonder just what will be left in the future if God does not come soon. Valentine
