Germany in the 1940s held similar views and turned to an erratic and psychotic leader to manage it. This and other countries are doing the same today and will pay the same toll. I don't mean to preach, and yet this was foretold long ago... "terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power." It's a sad world in which we live.

"Poverty inflicts all with equality.
Race and religion mean nothing.
When you are hungry and homeless."
Never a word truer said... for all of our vanities and violence and judging of each other, we, as humans, are no more than the product of instinct mixed with equal parts vanity and greed. When all dignity and luxuries are lost, we are back to our animal selves, relying on one another for our own safety and survival. When we are reduced to as low as we can, and in desparate need of continuation, all of society's stigmas and judgements leave us. For example, the starving homophobe will not be able to resist if the only person willing enough to serve him food was homosexual. Something which can apply to anyone who judges. We all need a Good Samaritan from time to time, yet all the time we must try and be that Samaritan.
I've one question. The greek which the word 'gospel' comes from means good news, which put's a bit of irony in the title. Although the gospels (with regards to the bible) are normally about teaching people lessons and showing how we can move on from our current condition.
Now my question is why say it's a gospel, if you're just stating what is? There is no moral to be learned (that I can see), or direction to move towards.
Unfortunately common sense does not prevail in our evil war driven world these days... we need people with hearts and minds like yours in the corridors of power..not only in the USA but all major powers... What legacy are we leaving our chiildren and grand children....
To use the tones of Yoda.. "A great writer you are!"
Nice sir…
Very nice….
I appreciate your social conscience…
And good will for humanity….
I think….men with brains like yours..
Can change the world….
Can fill humanity with optimism an hope…
Nice reading..
A very strong message, I like what you had to say in this poem. I also agree with most of what you wrote about. We need to be unified as a single country, and to do that we all have to make sacrifices...
I didn't have to read the entire poem before I liked it, just the first two lines.
"Men with wife and children.
Fugitive to the ability to succeed."
Well portrayed, well spoken and well done.
I'm speechless. Very true FOR OUR CHILDREN!!! I love knowing that there are still people in this world who still want peace and do the right thing. The picture of your father is very beautiful! There's a lot of love in this piece.
A Poet and writer who love to read and write.
My pleasure is reading about the bad and good in a life.
Also to honor the Poets/Writers of the past by reading their words.
