Germany in the 1940s held similar views and turned to an erratic and psychotic leader to manage it. This and other countries are doing the same today and will pay the same toll. I don't mean to preach, and yet this was foretold long ago... "terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power." It's a sad world in which we live.

Coyote, you are tired of war, many people are. Its time for you to rest and write poetry. But war will come and the innocent nations will have to take up arms again. I am afraid so.

Seems more a speech to the nation... within the lines of this verse... the way you convey your words to the reader... as if one is on a podium and saying these words aloud... I will not elaborate more into the subject matter... since I came here a bit later than the rest of the reviewers... which I believe cover this topic... you've written for the general public...
Thank YOU for writing :) I don"t see this as a poem, but rather, a plea, for the creation of good, the love of all, and the heart to stand. Resounding!
I thought I would go back to the beginning Coyote, and see how it all began for you on here. I am very glad I did. This poem is both lyrical and hard-nosed, strong in sentiment, unforgiving. It has a heart that beats gently, philosophically and with understanding. Thank you for this.
A Poet and writer who love to read and write.
My pleasure is reading about the bad and good in a life.
Also to honor the Poets/Writers of the past by reading their words.
