Two Brothers

Two Brothers

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

I learn how fragile life can be in 1988-1989. Better to be kind to your friends and family. World punish them enough already.

"

Two brothers

After years of running toward a road.
 I could not find.

I found out why I should of been kinder.
Learn to forgive.

Be a friend instead of a b*****d.
With only his dreams as his goals.

I look at my life with so many victories.

But the gift of love wasn't one of my skills.

I wished too late to listen.
Instead of lecture.

I learn not all people want wealth and power.

Some people are happy with small dreams.

They need someone to lean on.

Two young boys of 18 years.
One year apart took their own lives.

They were not equips to handle the fight the world of living.

When they needed the gentleness of a soft heart.
Someone to give them hope.

No-one was there.

They decided death was sweeter then life.

Alone and without any notice or words.

They kick away a chair.

Told the world to f**k off.

Why can't I feel complete?

I try to help them.
My hard words were cold and demanding.

I don't visit their graves.
There is nothing left of them.

I remember two strong boys running together toward a better place.

I hope.

I have become more gentle.
I accept mistakes.

I tell friends and family.

Please come to my home and everything will be alright.

Like all fools we become sorry when the story ends.

A heart wrenching poem that I know comes straight from your heart. To know any life was lost so young is tormenting to all that cared about them. Too many of our troubled youngsters choose this way out instead of seeking help for whatever is bothering them. Valentine

We had lost a few. Everyday should be a good day. We are alive and can do great things still.

So touching to me, you poured your heart into this one. Yes it is sad when someone takes his life, you are left with " If only's" and wish you had done more to help.

great poem and like Sue said " so thought provoking"

this poem is great. It shows how much we should be grateful for the people we have who love us and to keep them close. This poem is sad, but it's great. It's one of the best poems I've read. Great write.

This was so poignant and so thought provoking. You said a lot in this piece. Sometimes these lines are all someone ever needs....and is the heart of your piece...

When they needed the gentleness of a soft heart.
Someone to give them hope.

An excellent write...

Suicide is such a tough topic, you did this as well ( or better ) than any preacher i have listened to in such unfortunate and dark times . you ended this poem well , we all need to wake , be aware and learn the meaning of to care ...

To me this says don't be too late saying the things you mean.
This is a compelling story, and so sad, but with a strong
message. Nice write!

Very nice. But it would be very hard to choose. Good job! I mean wealth and power? I really wouldn't want either.

I learn not all people want wealth and power.

Some people are happy with small dreams.-------------those lines are precious. I live this life. And, I don't need anything to lean on since I am 17. I think, possessions make heavy, why would I want them.

World is not about matter.... anyway, it is just neutrons, electrons and protons.

I try to help them.
My hard words were cold and demanding.-------------they didn't care for help. I start to stop to want to help. I wait till I am asked for help.... I think, even it might sound crazy, I don't care, but I believe, the universe takes care for itself, also for us. Soon or later.

Then you say, - you don't visit graves, they are cold - I think the same. The memory is in our hearts, love is not visiting graves, even I have to say, from time to time, I like to visit pretty cemeteries but never I would of any of my relatives, I don't wish such confrontation, but that's personal. I also don't wish a grave.. what for? To make others worry if it looks nice and pay for which service? I find, love is definitely in hearts. Not it memory of fancy graves.

I felt how sad you were when writing this poem. Poetry can be healing; a way to share with others. wonderful write.

This was an amazing write! I always find that when I read your writing, I not only discover something about the world around me, but also of something within me. I realise something about myself that I'd never considered before. In this particular piece, the lines that resonated the most with me were:
'I wished too late to listen.
Instead of lecture.
I learn not all people want wealth and power.
Some people are happy with small dreams.'
This was a really thought-provoking, powerful write. Well done.
