The Lover, A Soldier prayer.

The Lover, A Soldier prayer.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Soldier goes off to War. Need kind and sweet memories to keep them human.

"

                     The Lover (A soldier prayer)

Poor boys and men.
Roads lead to War.

Young woman with a  sweet smile.
Silk dress.
Smelling like sweet flowers.

Whisper,  "let's dance tonight.
You shall go to War."

"Tonight we need to create photos for the heart."

"Memories to keep you warm when you are lonely and afraid."

Young man brings the sweet Angel close.
Whisper kind words of love and thankfulness.

Soldier stand alone.
Cleans his M-16.
Death is all around him.

He closes his eyes.
He remembered.
The smell of flowers.
The feel of the silk dress.

The sweet smile of his love.

Keeps him human.

Coyote Poetry
I stood alone on guard duty on the border of Iraq. Didn't think of War. I thought of beautiful faces and family.

Such a lonely time for a soldier on the lines alone, but he thinks back to a special night of memory with his loved one and he is able to carry on....you have expressed the ability to overcome the pain of war with such beautiful thoughts, flowing like the breeze in her pretty hair! I like your descriptions!!
Very nice!

Unbelievably cold and lonely yet warm and embracing! A very moving piece!! As a soldier of life I can't imagine having to be a soldier of both life and war! I absolutely admire, respect and owe each and every man and woman who serve for our freedom! Thanks and much respect (magnified, infinity) to you personally, Coyote!!!

Oh this was absolutely superb. You have penned this from your heart
and it shows. How lonely it must be alone on guard duty. I couldn't
begin to imagine what it is like. Thinking of the beauty of this world
must have indeed made you feel human and push to the back of your
mind the carnage and futility of war. Brave men and women, I salute
your sacrifices and may you always see the beauty around and forget
the ugliness of what you have been through.

Beautiful poem my friend, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us all.

Kindest regards,
Helena
