The Lover, A Soldier prayer.

The Lover, A Soldier prayer.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Soldier goes off to War. Need kind and sweet memories to keep them human.

"

                     The Lover (A soldier prayer)

Poor boys and men.
Roads lead to War.

Young woman with a  sweet smile.
Silk dress.
Smelling like sweet flowers.

Whisper,  "let's dance tonight.
You shall go to War."

"Tonight we need to create photos for the heart."

"Memories to keep you warm when you are lonely and afraid."

Young man brings the sweet Angel close.
Whisper kind words of love and thankfulness.

Soldier stand alone.
Cleans his M-16.
Death is all around him.

He closes his eyes.
He remembered.
The smell of flowers.
The feel of the silk dress.

The sweet smile of his love.

Keeps him human.

Coyote Poetry
I stood alone on guard duty on the border of Iraq. Didn't think of War. I thought of beautiful faces and family.

I didn't have anyone waiting for me back home but this is what I dreamed of. This is what I missed and wondered about, staring into loneliness while lying in my rack.

Wow. Reads like a screen play. Very powerful imagery here, especially the last lines, the soldier with the M16... great job!

I am honored and grateful of the work you and our Warriors do for us everyday to keep America Safe.
I too am in the military, United States Air Force.

Loved the Poem,
It gave me hope for myself and my Brothers Overseas.

To be in the middle of hell and remember the heaven of a beautiful woman must surely keep a man feeling alive. War is evil, love is the greatest emotion a person can feel.

Your writing is always wonderful, always reaches the heart, John .. thank you.

Your poem brings to mind heaven and hell. Is heaven impossible without hell? Or is hell an illusion which has to be exposed in order to enter heaven. Great writing.
