Flesh and bones

Flesh and bones

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Life is to be lived. Need to celebrate being alive.

"

          Flesh and bones

(Need a positive poem. Life is to be celebrated. Each day is a gift.)

I fell from the top of the mountain.

I stood with so many victories.

I realized too late.
They don't mean too much.

Beautiful young woman sitting between my legs.

She looked up.
Told me, "It don't matter anyway.

We are only flesh and bones."

I sat by the ocean.

Watching the her  power and  beauty.

The ocean is heartless.

So dangerous and tempting.

Woman with sad eyes sat with me.

She wished she was a better person.

I told her.

We are but flesh and bones.

In time we will fade away to distance memories.

I gave everything away.

I roamed with the poets and the musicians.

We sat late into the night together on lonely Monterey beaches.

Drinking and talking of things that was and were to be.

The singer sang a love song.

When he is done.

He told me.
" Love doesn't really mean too much.

We are but flesh and bones."

Just here awhile to try to celebrate being alive.

We danced and ran the lonely beaches.

We said a prayer to our God.
For one more day to be alive and free.

For we are but flesh and bones.

Born of the Earth we ride the winds and gaze upon the vista's of Life's loves and losses. Each day brings an up and a down that we learn from. Growing each minute, hour and day. The years pass and it's the glory of those beautiful things around us that keep us galloping on.

Wonderful Poem!

Can one be melancholy and hopeful at the same time? These are the feelings this poem evokes in me. You have a unique style and turn of phrase. A very enjoyable read. By the way, thank you for your service. I'm an Army wife!

This was very smooth, with a soft undertone of melancholy. I like the repetitive lines and emotions. I enjoyed this, lovely work, a relatable yet, original piece.

Hello Coyote,

A powerful poem about to celebrate it's 2 year anniversary. A very beautiful and true write. I am sorry for you loss.

This poem pulled me in, we are but flesh and bones, and I came to a conclusion. We are human, we are just trying to survive. We cannot always be prepared for what stalks us in the dark and we should always live life to its fullest. We shouldn't take our achievements for granted, and should not neglect those who around us. I know a few who would have benefited from this.

Life is precious, and we are fragile.

Always,

Matthew

No lifes beautiful not okay. Some people take pleasure in doing things that are not originally to give pleasure. Just think for a minutes when night falls if you are one of those people.

I think this is one of my favorite poems from you, well I won't go that far sense I really like all your work but this is magnificent. A very meaningful message to not take life for granted and silly, little things are not worth the effort we give it. thanks alot, enjoyed this.
