Flesh and bones

Flesh and bones

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Life is to be lived. Need to celebrate being alive.

"

          Flesh and bones

(Need a positive poem. Life is to be celebrated. Each day is a gift.)

I fell from the top of the mountain.

I stood with so many victories.

I realized too late.
They don't mean too much.

Beautiful young woman sitting between my legs.

She looked up.
Told me, "It don't matter anyway.

We are only flesh and bones."

I sat by the ocean.

Watching the her  power and  beauty.

The ocean is heartless.

So dangerous and tempting.

Woman with sad eyes sat with me.

She wished she was a better person.

I told her.

We are but flesh and bones.

In time we will fade away to distance memories.

I gave everything away.

I roamed with the poets and the musicians.

We sat late into the night together on lonely Monterey beaches.

Drinking and talking of things that was and were to be.

The singer sang a love song.

When he is done.

He told me.
" Love doesn't really mean too much.

We are but flesh and bones."

Just here awhile to try to celebrate being alive.

We danced and ran the lonely beaches.

We said a prayer to our God.
For one more day to be alive and free.

For we are but flesh and bones.

life can be cruel if you think about the 100 reasons to cry but i think life is beautiful thinking about the 1000 reasons to smile. alot of my old freinds didn't realize that which is probably why i was the last man standing with a smile. great poem is was enlightment to me :)

Dear Coyote

Life itself is a poetry that could never be written by the greatest of the poets themselves. It consists of love, pain, agoney, guilt, despair, charm, white, black, grey and all the boundaries that one could imagine of.

It follows all the rhymes and patterns in itself.

It's impossible to judge what could be standing a step ahead to lead our path. We are just coins which are placed on this planet for a particular benefit to ourselves and to this world.

What ever life gifts us is an absolute mandatory fact to be accepted by us. We are just slaves, who can complain but can not bring a change to the nature.

That was one of your best writes.

Stay blessed

Prodical

I lost a father the way you lost two brothers. Terribly sorry for your loss as I know how you feel.
'we are but flesh and bones' i love how its like a chorus to your beautiful poem. This is one of the best poems I have seen.

“Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart. The really great men must, I think, have great sadness on earth.”

Great inspirational poem...Lots of events in life can get us down but life always gives us a reason to smile in the end if we just look hard enough and in the end what are but temporary visitors here; we should live our fleeting lives as best we can "for we are but flesh and bones". Great work!!

every word you say is so true! we laugh and cry, fight and love, lead each second with "what will happen tomorrow", worries and headache...and in the end, nothing but a void! flesh and bones will decay with time! thought provoking lines! great!

~admire your words my friend... this is a touching piece of celebrating life... there is always something more to life than we ever thought... there are more reasons behind the sad fate... life is complicated... but we live with it, got through every step... then it defines who we are...

Great poem!!!!
