The sea of sadness and the storm of anger..

1- Sergeant Major was my friend.

I drove him home every night and he would drink.

I asked him. My friend, why must you get drunk every night?

He told me. The sea of sadness, the sea of anger is so hard to forget.

Good whiskey, good beer and good friends near.

Only medicine for a man waiting for death.

2- My friend the Sergeant Major, after the Irish Tavern closed.

Me, him and some pretty gals would go to the Pacific Ocean.

He would dance with with the sea and sing Elvis songs.

He told me. If we are lucky Johnnie. We can find a good woman

with kindness in her heart. Old soldiers need the kindness of a woman.

No-one want a man dead in heart, no woman want a crying man.

Now I dance with the wind, now I dance with the sea.

We joined him. The kind ladies holding his hands and kissing his face.

On a September night. Sergeant found peace.

Liver and kidneys gave out. After his funeral.

Us, who loved him.

We danced with the wind and we danced with the sea.

And we burn some sage and we prayed.

The Sergeant Major had found some peace.
