The Texas two-step..

He saw her sitting alone sipping her drink slowly and her eyes were barren and so cold. She held her whiskey like a old lover. So tightly.

The Austin, Texas Irish pubs filled with people seeking nothing and finding peace in the whiskey and the gin.

He sat next to her and he asked her. Sleeping pretty flower, do you need a flesh drink? She turned to him and she looked him over. My military haircut and clean face was safe. She told me. Pretty flower do die and men seeking love are few and faraway. I will take the drink as long as you don’t say much. I have heard enough lies and story today.

He told her. I love the Austin People, I love the Austin city and I love the beauty of the Texas gals. Texas girls are honest and strong. I like this. Dear sleeping flower. Love is deadly, love is cold. But whiskey is always kind. Make us see our real faces. I ordered two double shots of Jack Daniels.

She laughed at his words and she told him. I got lucky. I met the Austin, Texas Hemingway. Love is B.S. and do you drink like Hemingway? Hemingway told us. Never trust a person who don’t drink. You talk the talk soldier. Can you walk the walk? Do you know the truth from a lie?

He told her. Old Daddy told me. Johnnie, best way to lose a old lover’s memory. Find a better one. She smiled and she asked him. Do you like jazz? Do you like to dance? I need to laugh and smile again.

The bartender brought the whiskey and he raised the shot of whiskey to the sky. He told the Texas night. To laughter, to finding our smiles and to the Texas two-step. We need. They drank the whiskey and he ordered more.

He told her. I love the jazz, I can Texas two-step like a God and I can try to make you smile and laugh again. She smiled and she told him. Thank you dear soldier. You made me laugh and smile already.
