![]() Yearning eyes.A Poem by Coyote Poetry![]() April is poetry month. This was never published. Written in 2017. Poem number eight for April.![]() Yearning eyes.. A beautiful and sacred morning led me to you. You were California beautiful and Monterey kind. Your sun-kissed legs and face made me wish for a kiss and a dance. Your eyes of hazel green made me feel weak and the softness in your voice made me ask you a thousand questions. The calmness in your California sea-side voice. Made me want to listen to you. You spoke with a softness and I told you. When you spoke, you speak like a angel song. She told me. You northern boys, you soldier boys like to twist words. Make blushing beauties of us. Us California girls know pretty lies. They are still lies dear soldier. Soldiers are dangerous and always rushing toward love. Love is a delicate flower and need to be treated with kindness and concern. He told her. You are the prettiest flower near the sea and please allow me to buy you some coffee. Please allow me to read poetry to you. Please hold my hand and let’s dance by the Pacific. She smiled and she told him. I am a painter and I know you, Dark Poet. You love words more than love. If you allow me to paint you at Big Sur. Maybe we can become friends. He took her hands and he told her. I love your voice, I love how you dance with the sea and I adore your yearning eyes. Dear Susan, your wish is my wish. Let escape to Big Sur and find some happiness. Coyote © 2025 Coyote PoetryAuthor's Note
