Wild and free..

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Been writing lightly lately. Finally a new poem.

"

Wild and free.

1- I was seeking you, you were seeking me. You knew I was near the Monterey bay. I was writing words for the Pacific Ocean and I was thinking of you. I wrote to my journal. Where is my barefoot sea dancer, my midnight singer? I do love her so. You came to me when the moon and the sun kissed at dusk. And you asked me. Dear Dark Poet, are we dancing tonight for the goddess of the sea? Are you writing words for your first love. The Pacific ocean or me? I stood up and I went to you. I took you to the sea and we kicked our shoes off. We danced with the waves touching our feet. I told you my dear lover. You are my sea, you are wild and free. Every words I write is to tell my heart. I am a lucky man to know a kind woman who had blessed me with her love, her kindness.

2- Do you remember me? I do remember us. I am far from the sea and in sweet dreams. We are dancing by the sea. I remember our August kisses and January hugs. We adored the Pacific Ocean and we needed little. I yearn for coffee and books reading mornings on the Monterey pier. I got old and the memories are still young. I remember camping out at Big Sur. We laid bare assed and we danced for the midnight moon and the stars. And we prayed for more. Where are you, sweet Beatrice? I need one more dance, I need one more kiss.

3- Dear Beatrice, so beautiful. A lady who wanted to be wild and free. No walls or rules to lock her in. I remember she came to me in the Irish pub and she asked me. Please come with me Soldier boy, I see the heaviness in your face. We will share whiskey, we will share conversation. You can’t allow the wars to kill your soul. Tonight my soldier. We will dance like old lovers, make every new kiss, our sweetest. I asked her. You are as beautiful as Sunny morning in July, you are more wild than the sea. I don’t have anything left my dear Beatrice. She laughed and she told me. I see death on your left shoulder waiting dear Johnnie. The only way to escape the death whispered is to find laughter. Travel, dance and sing. Don’t give Death the chance to know. You have given in. Tonight we will drink till midnight, tonight we will burn sage by the sea. We will scream to the stars. I am alive and well. I brought her close and I told her. You are a Gypsy gal. Traveling the world. What will I do without you? She smiled and she kissed me. She told me. You befriended me on a warm California day. You took me to Big Sur, the California fault line and the Washington State mountains. After I go back home to Italy. Keep the memories of two wild and free people. Who sought life over death, who wanted laughter and more kisses. I will think of you and I will pray for you. I remember dear Beatrice tonight. I remembered we danced and we prayed for more.
