Brother Sun, Sister Moon. My New year thoughts.

Brother Sun, Sister Moon. My New year thoughts.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

When someone can make USA look foolish, when someone can make USA look slow and illogical. USA cannot walk alone. USA need friends. Not separation.

"

Brother Sun, Sister moon.

1- I taught my grandchildren, the world is colorless.

We must be kind and befriend people.

The world is large enough for everyone.

2- Jesus was a immigrant,

USA had been the safe haven for many.

Where I live in Michigan.

Many escape war and violence are my neighbors and friends.

Haitians are good people,

Africa and South/Central American immigrants are good people.

Would Jesus say ugly things because of color, race and belief.

No.

3- Do people escape places where they are safe?

Brother Sun and Sister Moon. We are.

Do we close our doors to people needed shelter and protection.

This is one world and one people.

We must lead with kindness and concern. We must listen to the cries for help.

4- USA had a hateful man in-charge.

He hate the military General and he create lies.

USA is being laugh at.

Buying Greenland, threating our law system.

Who is safe?

No-one had the right to tell us how to love.

Please no book bans and please do not erase history.

A great man wrote.

You erase history and the ugly parts of history will repeat.

USA had been a friend to the countries in our world.

The world is getting smaller.

We must stand together or fall one by one.

I am embarrassed by the new President.

He respect no-one and he love power and money.

USA must set the example.

Not be a joke.

Canada been our friend forever and now the new President want

to make the great country the 51 state.

If you are not worried. You should be.

5- Many ugly war are active.

Gun are a blazing and the contractors are making money.

Children are dying in many places.

Who is demanding peace over war.

Raised guns, hateful voices will not know peace.

Who started the war doesn’t matter when both sides are wrong.

Hate is a deadly sin.

Brother Sun, Sister moon. We must become.

Share bread, share medicine and share water.

It is our fault if we stay silence.

Every life is valuble.

i love this”Brother Sun Sister Moon”….. that is how the world SHOULD be, but unfortunately many. bought into his lies and now we are facing fear, danger, autocracy, oligarchy and more…. your words speak the truth John and i agree one hundred percent with them…… we must be kind to our brother and sisters no matter what color, creed, etc….. instead we are divided and shrinking from the world theater…. let us pray that 2025 will be more peaceful, though I have my doubts…… thank you John for revealing exactly the way i feel at this moment in time….
Happy New Year and “hold on to your seat”
Warmly, B😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏

Thank you my friend. I appreciate the comment.
while you are here discussing something less than desireable, your voice carries so much positivity and life. i appreciate that. too many have dug down into cynicism, pessimism, nihilism. but you are one warrior standing tall and seeing there is hope, seeing there is love, seeing there is beauty. especially the last line: people talk about the war(s) over coffee as if they are sporting events, no, people are dying and this should not be. this work spoke to me. thanks for sharing.

P.S are you still working on your novel?

Everyone, we all say, "This isn't how it "should" be!" But we go on living our lives the same. How many of US change? Do we STOP using Plastic? Do we cut down on trips to cut down on use of fossil fuels? We are not hearing ANYTHING about the ENERGY Summit NOW! We complain right into extinction. Thanks for this provocative piece! Coyote!

A fine deservedly hard-hitting soul searching poem to revive humanity.
Indeed the American president is being condemned worldwide for funding genocide.
Kudos!

Hello my friend. Thank you for reading and the comment. I appreciate the comment.
There is so much truth and honesty in this write ... fortunately and unfortunately. I love the metaphor "Brother Sun and Sister Moon" and perhaps add it a few more times for emphasis. I know and understand the form and style is meant to be spontaneous and at times almost rant-like, and that's fine... but grammatically I think it could use some editing. I'd be happy to do that if you want, but wouldn't touch it without your permission. I like the numbering, but would place similar items together both negative and positive and perhaps include a couple more. I think there is much potential to increase the power. I love the ending (but not the truth). Do you want this to be seen and read as a poem or prose?

Maybe this is what we should say each day instead of the pledge of allegiance.

Amazing condensation of thought filled lines - expressed here are the statements that need to be expressed and the questions that need answers. Sadly much of what is currently phrased is conceit and avarice not as you have implored here. Be well friend and keep on as best you can - we are in need of your voice. -carl
