The next step is love...

The next step is love...

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Finally a new poem..

"

The next step is love…

1- Was a beautiful Michigan Summer day and

you held my hands near Lake St. Clair.

You asked me by the Clinton River. Johnnie, Johnnie. Do you love me?

I do love you.

2- Once upon a time.

Dear Andrea, I needed to hear your words,

I needed your soft kisses.

You were the prettiest gal in my life.

I left you for ugly wars, I left you to find the unknown places.

I didn’t know dear Andrea.

I had the most beautiful thing in my world near.

It was you.

3- Once upon a time, I believed in love.

I left my home, I left my country.

I found warm kisses and kind women.

I saw the ugly of life and I learned.

Dear Andrea, wandering soldier is coming home.

I hope you remember me?

Dear Andrea wrote back kind words.

We will gather together at lake St. Clair in the Spring.

We will talk, we will laugh and maybe we may cry.

The first step of love Johnnie. Is finding safe place

to be. Writing new stories of love.

I am waiting in Michigan for you and

the sun is shining today.

We are so hungry sometimes for life that we seek out big and what we hope will be exciting bites, not understanding that it is delicate flavours that nourish us most and in the end we will crave. This story of the lost soldier and his lost love really touched me. Excellent write and the making of wonderful song lyrics.

heart-achingly beautiful. the persona, a soldier, performs his duty but returns a different man. yet the love he found earlier in his life still burns. maybe darker things have entered his heart as well, but the gem is still found amidst the rubble. that elusive thing called hope is alive in this one man, and while waiting in Michigan, i hope this lights keeps shining on him forevermore.

Thank you Ernest. I learn too late. Love need care and concern. Can be forgotten.
The mistake was learnt, hope not too late,
your poem captures deep emotions in each lines.
a lovely poem, keep dancing, Coyote
