I hope your days be bright and love will be near you always..A Poem by Coyote PoetryI need a year near the Pacific Ocean to write my novel. She was the Gypsy girl, Monterey Bay dancer. She would gather her friends and they would find the sea. They would sing and dance for the falling sun and the rising moon. I was lucky. Dear Maria, befriended me and she taught me how to laugh, she taught me how to dance and sing again. She told me on late October night in 1993. Johnnie, you became old. Your eyes are filled with darkness and your mind filled with s**t. She caressed my face and touched my hair. We danced bare foot in the moving and dancing waves. She whispered me. I will give you a Gypsy secret. “Drink, dance, kiss and embrace. Laugh, sing and howl at the moon. Never look back my friend. One day, every kiss, every dance. We will need to remember.” You are my Gypsy man and We will create new memories and tell the world. Leave us be. Life is the utopia of knowing a lover, knowing the taste of a warm kiss and praying to the Pacific Ocean. I saw her the last on a day in late 1994 in late Spring. She organized a large gathering of my Gypsy friends. We drank, we danced and we we embraced. We danced by the sea and she told me. Soldier boy, soldier boy. Leave the Army. Write the great book and remember. Life is know laughter, life is to know joy. We must know many kisses and be fearless. I love you Johnnie and when a Gypsy gal loved you. It a love never forgotten and written in stars for us to see. I hope your days be bright and love will be near you always. I told her. Maria, Maria. Thank you for your friendship and your family kindness. I love you so and thank you for teaching me. I wasn’t alone. Dancing Coyote © 2024 Coyote PoetryAuthor's Note
