She was a California dream, in her eyes. You could see the great sea. In her voice, she could take away all my sadness.
I went to her at Dusk and I brought her coffee and some fresh pastries. I found her in her garden of wildflowers, surrounded by red roses and white roses. I stood at a distance and I watched her caress the soil with her tender hands. I would bring her new flowers to plant in her garden and she would ask me. One more cup of coffee. Me and you. We love coffee, we love the sea and we do get lonely.
I went to her and she stood-up and embraced me tightly. She whispered to me. You promised me a Big Sur weekend and a dance by the sea. I told her. We can escape as soon as you are ready to go.
We arrived at Big Sur. We found Pfeiffer Beach and the beach was quiet at night. Dear Veronica tosses off her shoes and she ran to the wild sea. The waves were kicking tonight and I adored watching her dance alone with the Pacific Ocean. Her feet allowing the water to caress her feet and legs.
I opened up a coffee container and I pour some coffee into two cups. She come to me and she told me. One more cup of coffee, we shall share. I add some whiskey in her coffee and I told her. A cold night my dear love. Thank you for your kindness, thank you for your friendship.
She smiled and she told me. I hope, you and I. We can have one more cup of coffee when we are old and gray. I hope we can find the sea and we can dance for the Goddess of the sea Amphitrite. Maybe we can make her smile?
We walked to the sea and I asked for a midnight dance my Lady Midnight. She bowed and she told me. Dear prince. I would be honored.
We drank the whiskey and dear Veronica and me. We danced for the sea, we danced for the stars and the moon. And dear Veronica whispered. I do believe the Goddess Amphitrite blessed us with a perfect night.
Nothing like dancing by the sea drinking coffeee with booze, a very romantic meeting that seems like it may last for some time….Lonely people especially like the kindness you give to them in your beautiful poems and this is one of many

This poem is a breathtaking ode to love, nature, and the timeless bonds that unite us. The imagery is vivid and enchanting, transporting me to the gardens of wildflowers and the shores of Pfeiffer Beach with each carefully crafted verse. The poet's ability to capture emotions so tenderly, paired with their skillful use of language, creates a deeply moving experience that resonates long after reading. "California Dream" is not just a poem but a journey into the beauty of shared moments, where coffee and the sea become symbols of connection and companionship. Truly a masterpiece that celebrates the magic found in both nature's wonders and the depths of the human heart.

Thank you dear poet for reading and the comment. I do appreciate. I need a year near the Pacific.
A truly romantic course of a story, loving the sweet interaction of the lovers seeming to not part ways but live the moment in each other's embrace. Such a beautiful writing there, really loved reading it my friend!

Reads like a beautiful dream or something out of a myth. It is not that often that we men encounter Veronicas, so we must cherish the memory of those times. Her frolicking in the sea made her sound like a goddess.

Another good write of longing and relationships that go beyond the moment but reside in the moment. Nicely imaged with a touch of nostalgia. This poem to me is painted in sepia. Very nice Coyote
