A Texas gal whispered to me. Bang, bang.A Poem by Coyote PoetryApril is poetry month. New poem number eighteen.A Texas gal whispered to me. Bang, bang… (April is poetry month. New poetry number eighteen.) It was a Austin Friday night and we were two shadows seeking some comfort. She told me. I like the sea, I like the whiskey and I like to dance at midnight. You and I. We are just shadows of people, we use to be. Needing to be held, needing to dance with the sea near and become. A Texas lullaby. She asked me. What do I see? I told her. The most kissable girl in my world. I adore the knife tattoo on your left hip and I love the pistol tattoo on your right hip. You are a dangerous lady dear Doris. She told me. Don’t break my heart soldier boy. If you break a Texas girl heart. Bang, bang. The last noise you will hear. Please take me, please make me feel wanted. Excite my mind, excite my skin. Just never lie to a Texas gal with a loaded 45 on her hip. I kissed her and I told her. My Texas rose. You are my reason to be alive. Dancing Coyote © 2024 Coyote PoetryAuthor's Note
