One Tin soldier..

I have become a vulgar man. Once I had a young heart. Love didn’t darken my heart, love didn’t darken my mind. Life did.

He told the mirror in the tavern. I remember everything. I remember the beautiful faces of the kind women who tried to love me. I remember doing the Texas two-step. Feeling so damn happy.

Now in my dreams. I see the starvation in Africa, I remember finding the bodies of women and children in Bosnia. I remembering a river filled with bodies flowing and I couldn’t do a damn thing. I remember the mass graves in Africa filled with poor people forgotten. Us soldiers, we prayed for them. We knew. This wasn’t enough.

I remember the eyes of the people in the way of war, I remember the faces of the people who starved to death. I asked often. Where was God? I have fought with god for many years and he never answered. I question myself often. Was I just another Tin Soldier? I asked myself. Did I do enough? Or was I just a observer of s**t, hate and blood.

Once I sought love and now I seek to forget. Become clean again. I followed my father to wars and I learn his sadness, I understand the heavy sadness in his face.

Now I burn sage and I pray for peace. They murdered 146 Russians at a concert in Russia. I searched out their faces and names. I prayed they found a better place. What men can do? Today damn wars, old hate had killed the kindness and hope in my world.

Mass murder in Palestine, the Ukraine/Russia war and the murder of over 1200 people murdered at a concert in Israel. The Tin soldier worry for his world. His grandchildren are fifteen now and the wars are alive and well.

The old man went to lake St. Clair and he asked the St. Clair de pobre. Please tell God. We had enough war, we had enough starvation and we had enough murder. Please heal my world.

The frustration in this one is almost thick enough to touch. And with good reason, I might add, for however much we decry war we keep engaging in it. I keep telling myself it's something we'll eventually evolve out of, but eventually can contain a whole lot more bodies.

Powerful read and poses questions yet unanswered, how do you stop war ( how do you put an end to greed and hate ) Is this really a playing out of man's basic nature are we really brutal creatures is there no hope for a peaceful world. I am sorry but I see little evidence of change when mankind will not be obsessed with self annihilation. - I believe in "Peace on Earth" but do not believe it will come through the action or inaction of fallen man. first time a flood second by fire ( unsure how that will occur - perhaps at our own hands ) I know this piece could not have been easy to write, thanks for the post - carl

Thank you Carl for reading and the comment. Our world is dancing on a dangerous edge my friend.
dear VOL,

very inetresting sir, you keep alluding stuff. which is essential and building you though look caustic was helpful you delete that, like use and throw type pads in underwear, i mean for kids. its very unfair, and gutless body, literally khayyar.

people commnet me as a man, its is proud moment fro parents a daughter is leading like a man, bold enough, not like a coward b***h.
she opened her sweetnutmeg, assss8888 gogo fffffff8888
i like men and women who behave as per age, dressing. family values, like slaman, aishwarya, shahrukh, priyanka mahesh, namrata. but few b*****s want to look so young though they are not, as body wanes with time, but still they claim round and rod like. funny, its pity, to self blame, such are malika arora, jagan mohan, kiara, alll so on.
now you are riding sports bike with a s**t, what you are showing to the society, that you are a teenager, if you are a familyman riding withfamilymember looks decent.butwith erotic people lying onyour shoulder makes you look over aged, what he isdoingnow. at hismid 30s.

thank you,
-jessy jacob.

This is sad really, God does take care of his people. Where is he? He is everywhere.
It is sad when innocent people die. I would love to see the whole world get along, but that
is just a dream. If it were just that easy. War is very sad. Very sad.

Yes, we have had enough.
And that treasure on the mountain....just words..."Peace on Earth" was all it said.
And that is more than enough.
Powerful words here from someone who has been there and felt it.
Felt the worst.

My friend I have not seen these terrible sights of war but I have seen others, children abused, men with amputated souls, women sold into the slavery of drugs and prostitution, the lost. In this landscape of woe I have wandered and still see those hiding their wounds and scars and it saddens me. Well written Coyote.
