So damn tired..

So damn tired..

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Good song made me write this poem.

"
So damn tired...
Today is St. Patrick day and I will drink alone.
I will find a glass of green beer, wear my green shirt with some words on it.
"Kiss me, I am Irish."
I tried to gather my old drinking friends. They are not all dead.
Just tied to the wife aprons. Scare to ask the wives.
I am singing the morning. "The sky is dying and the days are cold.
I need a tropical place and a dark skin gal."
Once upon a time, I was the laughing man,
now I like the jazz and no voices.
Now I seek silence and old memories.
I tell the morning. "The sky is crying and I don't cry no-more.
The tears been gone for a long, long time."
The old memories, the old thoughts become heavy, too heavy.
Now old Johnnie is seeking a Irish gal with ginger hair to tell him,
the whiskey is good, your smile is nice. Can I give you a little kiss?
I go to the St. Patrick party in Austin, Texas. A filled tavern with loud and happy folks.
I like this place. Irish song, green beer, Irish whiskey and pretty gals.
I sat alone and I know. On St. Patrick day in Austin, Texas.
You are not allow to be alone. Two college girl with empty hands asked me.
Soldier, soldier. Drinking alone on St Patrick day. A Irish sin.
I asked them. Can I buy you a Irish whiskey and a green beer?
They smiled and they both agreed. They introduced themselves.
Sara and Susie. Seniors at the University of Texas. Future doctors.
I told them my name Johnnie. Soldier from Michigan, trying to have some fun.
They laughed at me. Sara told me. We like you Northern men. You can dance,
not afraid of laughter and like to drink a lot. I told them, this was me.
It seem all my rowdy friends have got marry and the wives believe me
to be dangerous and foolish man.
Susie smiled and she told me. I like dangerous and foolish men.
Today in Austin. Whole city dressed in Green. On St. Patrick day.
We all become Irish. This is the day for the dangerous and the foolish.
We drank till the night appeared and I went to the liquor store.
I buy some beers and a bottle of Irish Whiskey.
Sara and Susie decided to hang with me and we wander to the Austin River.
We sing and dance to the stars and the Texas moon.
Surrounded by many people enjoying the night and St. Patrick day.
Susie told me. I like your face. A face of struggle, wonder and vision.
I know you have stories to be told. I told Susie and Sara.
I have learn. Never give up and pray to the goddess of the River.
For more good day than bad. And I am thankful for the good company dear ladies.
They smiled at me and they kissed my face.

You allow us to be the voyeur on your romantic adventures. Your face must be so expressive to have her say the things she did. Wow, two ladies on St. Patrick's day....lucky fellow! Beers and Irish Whiskey make everything a little bit better, don't they? No, you should not be alone on St. Patrick's day or any other day either. Always a pleasure to read you, John. Lydi**
