Afraid of love...A Poem by Coyote PoetryA beautiful Elle Carpenter gave me reasons to write tonight.Afraid of love.. I sat on the sand on the Monterey beach slowly drinking my Black Velvet whiskey alone. Pretty Autumn Marie sat with me and I held her hands. I saw the sadness in her brown eyes and I told the pretty gal with the sad face, you will be okay. We need more love letter, we need more love words. She stared into my eyes and she asked me. Dark poet, my last friend. I am so sad and I knew. You would be here by the sea, praying for more. Why does love turn bitter? Why do once sweet words, become forgotten? Do we forget or do we want more? I told her. Love is a garden. The garden needs concern, kindness and reminders. To keep love alive. We must forgive and accept the good and the bad days. She gave me a light smile and she told me. Why don't we appreciate the good days, why don't we appreciate the sweetness of love. When she is near? Tonight I am afraid of love. I took her hands and I took her to the Pacific ocean dancing waves. We danced and she laughed at us. She asked me. I need more good days, I need more laughter. Please Johnnie. Let's drink your whiskey and please hold me, like you need me. Like you love me. I kissed her forehead and I told her. Dear Autumn Marie, we must seek happiness, we must seek kind people and we shall learn. Love isn't always kind. Dancing Coyote
