I do, dear I do..

I do, dear I do..

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Nick Cave is my muse today.

"
I do, dear I do..
1- She told me. I don't hate you. I dislike love now and her eyes filled with sorrow. She whispered.
Love is for the lucky. You and I. We are not the lucky.
2- I whispered to her. My hands in her auburn hair. I do, dear I do.
I told a Beautiful Scottish  gal once. I want to kiss a Scottish girl,
I want to dance near the sea with you my dear Sheena.
I would trade away all my glory for just one kiss,
I would give away my sadness for one slow dance.
I do, dear I do. I pray a Scottish gal would love me too.

John,
Ah, the days of chivalry and "Romantic Love" when wearing a scarf, and whole nights and days of longing gazes... So gentle, so UNFULFILLED! One kiss? Nah, don't bother. I'm frustrated and not even in the poem... I hope she was at least pretty!

Heart of a true romantic. It's been years since I read your poetry and even after all these years you still don't disappoint. Beautifully penned. Kinda inspiring me to want to delve into love poetry again. Hard to crack open the shell and leave it open. I kinda open my heart enough for it to peek out and around the corner. And if it feels somewhat safe I let myself out. Sometimes it pours like a flood and is off-putting to others and sometimes it comes out as a trickle and I'm called cold. If my heart feels the threat of pain, it retreats and slams the door and just peeks out the keyhole. I haven't yet found someone that I can invite in. Sit by the hearth of my heart and just be present. Sometimes presence is all you need. My apologies fo my yammering. Just triggered feelings In a good way. It's amazing how poetry makes one think and relate... sometimes in different ways. Bravo on this one.

Yet another of your romantic past loves, John! Your poems really do offer love into a dark and often hard-hearted world.

You're very welcome. Am desperately trying to catch up with belated reviews.
An affirmative one, I do; your love is on full disclosure, your trust is on full show of the muse.
Coyote is still roaming to appreciate love past, present.
