Secrets and lies...

Secrets and lies...

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Sometimes we don't know what is true and what is not?

"
Secrets and lies...

I found her bleeding out near the sea. She held a empty Black Velvet whiskey bottle and her eyes were
empty and cold. I sat with her and I took her hands. I told her.

We are shadows and light,
we are wishes and we are demands.
We need passion and we run from the tenderness of love.
We want everything and we want nothing.
After the storm, after the kisses and touch.
The quiet appeared.
We can play the Devil and we can be as gentle as a Angel kiss.
Love is the dance of chance.
And we decide. Forever or nothing?

I handed her my Gentlemen Jack whiskey and I told her.
You have a cold, cold heart dear Angela.
We love sin, whiskey and the skin.
It is okay dear Angela.
I have a cold, cold heart also.
Some of us are thieves and some of us are liars.
We love our secrets, we love the new kiss.

She looked at me with her emerald eyes.
She told me. We were lovers once.
We shared the whiskey, we danced by the Monterey Bay.
We found dark motels and we loaned and borrows skin and sin.
Did you love me? Did you need me?

I told her. Life is a circle of confusion.
We want everything and we need nothing.
You and I, dear Angela.
We love secrets and lies.
We love to bleed and we don't need to know love.
We allowed our flesh to control our heart and mind.
When the flesh is content. Can the heart know peace?

She laughed at my words and she asked.
Johnnie, Johnnie. Please take me to Big Sur tonight.
I want to watch the Pacific and you to hold me tightly.
We can pretend we are old lovers and dance near the sea.

I took her to Big Sur and she took off her dress and her shoes.
She danced for the falling sun alone by the ocean and I went to her.
She asked me. Can us who love secrets and lies. Know joy?

I told her. After a time.
Truth and lies are the same and I kissed her.

Secrets and lies, the theme of this beautiful, mystical love poem... can one still truly love if lies and secrets are in their blood?.... certainly you can laugh, drink, dance together, have fun together, And it doesn't have to be more than that..... nice writing John...

You are such wonderful romantic John, "We are shadows and light,"
and we are just that when it comes to affairs of the heart, secrets hiding in shadows come to the fore even in lies sometimes..

Thank you dear Melinda for reading and the comment. I do appreciate.
Life is full of contradictions and sometimes secret and lies have their own kind of love that sometimes the whiskey fuels.

I love the story telling in this piece. It allows a glimpse into the memories of others.

Thank you dear friend for reading and the comment. I agree my friend.
Your loves, especially Angela.. perhaps.. seems almost immortal, a woman who took your heart and made it hers; your words. your poem making her stand out in the Magic stakes, John. This is more than a love story... sir.

I have a bit of my own story going on at the moment 😜
"When the flesh is content, can the heart know peace?" Heavy stuff here, C. The flesh is never content for long, especially when one is young. The years can slow it down, but only the big sleep brings lasting peace.
