I needed a proper farewell...A Poem by Coyote PoetryWe need a proper goodbye to the people we loved.I needed a proper farewell... Was a cold Germany December night in 1978 and I called you my sweet Sheena. I remember your mother told me. Didn't you do enough? I remember you took the phone and you asked me, was I okay? You told me. I heard you got sick and I hope you are doing alright? I told dear Sheena, I am so sorry for breaking your heart. In the end, the karma of our goodbye, broke me. I loved you and I didn't deserve a kind and beautiful woman, like you. She held silence for a few seconds and she whispered. Sometime love isn't enough Johnnie. You loved the booze, the song and the dance. We were just butterflies in the wind. Hoping and dreaming. I told her. I wanted a proper goodbye and I wanted you to know. You are my biggest regret and I pray you find someone to love and treat you right. Her voice become more sweet/ kind and she whispered. We had Spring and we held Summer. Now we must know goodbye. Please drink less, please find something you can love. If you need a friend. You can call me. I told her. Thank you dear Sheena. Coyote
