My birthday poetry.

My birthday poetry.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

I made 65 years. Maybe 40 more?

"
My birthday poetry…
1- Today, I am 65 years old.
I will wander to the Sunflower festival in Michigan for the day of my birth.
I am older and maybe wiser?
My birthday wish is simple.
A safe world for my grandchildren and all the children in our world.
2- Once I was young and old age was far away.
Now I am old and I know.
Time goes by us so quickly.
We must ensure we enjoy every new day.
Be the friend, be the listener.
Be the safe place for family and friends to come to.
We are what we leave behind.
Better to be kind and leave a healthy garden.
Growing and reaching for the sun.

If only your birthday wish was so simple as wishing it. Sixty-five isn't quite old age. Old enough to be an age though. When you hit 105 you can qualify. But by then that will be the new 65. Hopefully you'll still be writing, in your old age. Happy birthday Cannis Poeticus!!

A belated Happy Birthday, my friend Coyote. I hope you had a wonderful day with your loved ones. Time flies and before we know, we are in the sunset. Yet life is magical and today is all we have. So let's make the most of it. Thank you for the beautiful wisdom shared. I'll treasure it always.

If we all would take that perspective to heart many hearts would be filled with joy old friend:) sadly many don't we are the caretakers of the future and our responsibility is just that but so many get lost in the web of misdirection! I guess that is what makes us poets our need to clear the view:) Happy belated birthday Coyote

Thank you Robert.
Happy 65th birthday dear Coyote, hope your day was special. We are both blessed with grandchildren. We want a better world for them. My days are blessed with a loving family. They are everything.

We are what we leave behind. So true. I am building memories. Lots of days out and get togethers at home. That will be my legacy. Keeping the family strong and together. Your words resonated with me. Thank you.

"We must ensure we enjoy every new day."We are what we leave behind." I agree with you. I am also older now; also in my 60's. I can relate. Well expressed and written. Thank you for sharing

A very happy birthday Coyote. Yes we are as old as we feel and your wishes are what we all should want "we are what we leave behind" If we can provide a safe place for others we have gone a long way to being human. A beautiful write.
