Where are the people seeking peace?

Where are the people seeking peace?

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Thank you dear Marianne for the song.

"
When will we seek peace, not separation?
1- I found 24 bodies in a river in Bosnian.
Just old people, women and children.
Me and my soldiers body bags them.
They were murders by  the hammer.
To save bullets.
We prayed and cried for them.
This is all we could do.
2- In Africa, starvation left dead bodies everywhere.
 My soldiers and me.
We collected the body of the dead.
We buried then in mass graves.
Dead bodies will create sickness and disease.
We did pray for them.
3- After Death Valley,
me and many soldiers had to go to Death Valley in Iraq.
We collected 10,000 dead Iraqi soldiers bodies.
Some were in pieces and we gave them.
The mercy killing.
A shot to make their death less painful.
I learn, the Iraqi soldiers.
Just men dying for the hate of another.
4- War, my friend.
No-one will win.

Your poem is a haunting and powerful reflection on the realities of war and the human cost of conflict. The descriptions of finding bodies in Bosnia, collecting the dead in Africa, and mercy killing in Iraq are all deeply disturbing and evoke a sense of horror and tragedy. The idea of praying for the dead is a poignant reminder of the human toll of war and the need for compassion and empathy in the face of such suffering. The final lines about war being a no-win situation are a sobering reminder of the futility and senselessness of violence. Overall, your poem is a powerful and moving exploration of the human cost of war and the need for peace and understanding in the face of such devastation.

War is an ugly thing, but it is not the ugliest ... that would be man himself. If the politicians that declare war had to fight themselves, there would never be war. The dutiful are but cannon fodder for those who care not for humanity.

Soldiers who find themselves in positions such as those that you write of deserve our tears.

Unfortunately, this is the sad reality of the world that we live in.

War, my friend.
No-one will win..
There are those who glorify war but it's a messy business. Even those who start out with "Righteous" intentions often end up doing and witnessing things that give them endless nightmares for years. We fight wars to prevent wars. We fight it to bring justice. However, several of the winners lose their innocence and ideals and their humanity. We do what needs to be done but there's no glory in wars like most movies portray them.

dearest Coyote... when I think of what you saw and had to do what was needed-- I will never be
quite the same. I know now why you write... to keep your Sanity. We owe so much to you and the others who gave as much as they could... to the Dignity so deserved by those elderly people and women and children.
War is Hell. May God keep you well by the Sea and give you Peace. gently, Pat

Such sad and powerful words. Death is sad but sometimes so is life and nature's justice is death. It waits for all of us, it is the eternal leveler. It is not if we die but how. You are so right, no one will win.
