A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

The sun and moon share butterfly kisses as they pass in the night.

She was a Spring day and I was a winter storm.
She words a pendant of tourmaline on her neck and she never wore shoes. She adored the sea and she loved watching the sun fall into the sea. She had secret angel wings on her back and she didn't like sadness. She was a artist who saw beauty in everything.
When I found her. I was seeking the good death. I sat with her and I watched her paint the Monterey Bay. I bought her coffee and sandwiches. I told her. All work and no food.  Will kill your hunger to create. She stopped painting and she came to me. She told me, my name is Lilith, as she caressed my face. She told me. I see heavy sadness in your face and your face is already ancient. Can I paint you?
I told her. my name is Johnnie and you don't want to paint my face. I have ugly with hate and regret. Somethings and some faces, needs to be forgotten. You are a warm Spring day and I am a Winter storm.
She laughed at my words and she told me. I know you. You lead the poetry reading in Monterey and Pacific Grove. You are very kind to the young writers and old writers. You have befriended many artist on the pier. You have brought me coffee and sandwiches ten times. And you never asked my name.
He told her. I apology for talking so little. I have talked too much already and I have learn. My words hold little value. I write and I write. I don't know why I write no-more?
Her smile disappeared and she told me. Many years ago, I lost my brother to suicide. I am almost thirty years old and you are black with anger and you gave-up. I like your face. Please don't die Johnnie. You never know what you will do. Life is a great storm and we must learn to dance in the storm.
She went to her knees and she looked into my eyes. She told me. You are not alone no-more dear Johnnie. I will teach you to smile again. I asked her. Do you want someone to steal your joy?
She stood-up and she held him. She whispered. Johnnie, Johnnie. I will teach you to dance with the sea, I will teach you to worship the sun on your face and I will teach you. Love and kindness can win.
He smiled and he told her. You are a beautiful auburn Monterey gal and you believe I can be saved. Just your friendship and your kind words. Would be enough.
Her smile appeared again and she told him. All of us need mercy, all of us need kindness and all of us need someone to hold on to in the midnight hours. I liked you. You are a gentleman and in your eyes. I feel beautiful.
He told her. You are beautiful dear Lilith. You make me want to be brave again. I have adored your smile and your gentle voice. She told him. Let's pack-up and let's go to the Pacific. Tonight we will dance for the moon and the stars. Maybe the goddess of the sea?  Will bless us with the gift of the blessing of love.
